Makeup and Hair Inspiration of the S/S 2015 Catwalk Look

Daphne Groeneveld

The models' looks to match the collection is called 'The Polished Rock Chick'. Charlotte Tilbury helped Tom Ford design the makeup look while Sam McKnight created the hair backstage. The look was inspired by rock singer Chrissie Hynde of the band The Pretenders. A major trend of the makeup look this season is natural but I guess Ford just couldn't resist adding something extra to his models. But I don't disagree as I love a smokey eye! Tilbury concealed any flaws so that the look could be perfect and natural at the same time. The smokey eye is of a metallic black shade which has been applied on the eyelid and  blended outwards to make it look smoulder. She also applied MAC eyeliner along the lash and water lines and then blended it into the eyeshadow. The eyeshadow was also blended underneath the eye. A nude lipstick of Tom Fords, Vanilla Suede, was applied to the lips to give a full natural looking pout and was also applied to the cheek bones for a polished sheen look. Sam McKnight created the hair style by placing a wig on each model, matching their natural hair colour and then chopped the hair to a shorter length and gave it a messy finish to define the whole rock chick look.
