Campaign Ad of Tom Ford's S/S 2013 Women's Collection
The main theme revolving the Spring/Summer 2013 Women's collection by Tom Ford was the idea chastity and perversity in women's clothing and how people perceive a woman in them and if they look conservative or sexy. The collection is about finding the balance between these two. The collection was also inspired by futuristic themes and the time of space exploration. The makeup was influenced by an aggressive vamp edge resulting in smokey eyes and the hair was styled into teased beehives inspired by the 60s looks. As part of the futuristic theme the materials of the collection were of metallic and patente leather along with these unusual heels in the image above which I love for the uniqueness of the needles coming out of the wedge heel.
After looking through the collection I completely understand the concept of the theme matching the clothes because he has used materials that are known to look sexy such as leather and then created an outfit using this material that is a conservative style. Or he has created a dress that seems conservative with an open back making it also sexy.
